Hallandale Beach Blog -A common sense public policy overview offering a critical perspective on the current events, politics, govt., public policy, sports scene and pop culture of the U.S., South Florida, Europe and Sweden. In particular, Broward & Miami-Dade County, and the cities of Hallandale Beach, Hollywood & Aventura. Trust me when I tell you, this part of Florida is NOT the Land of Lincoln. Hallandale Beach Blog will "out" the craven spy in our midst -with glee!- on the 24th. Our midst being the corrupt Duchy of Hallandale Beach

If everything goes as planned, in this space, a week
from tomorrow, someone's life as they once knew it
here in the Duchy of Hallandale Beach is going to get
very public and very, very uncomfortable.

People they know, trust and respect -and even
those
they don't- will suddenly point fingers at
them and talk about them behind their backs.

That is, until those people start saying some not-so-nice
things to their face, which may take a few days, but
hich will become easier with both time and practice.

And the best part is that it will all be true.
100%.

It will be like a light suddenly flipped-on in the middle
of the night, but here, rather than a bathroom light
suddenly exposing their longtime cowardliness,
cravenness, and their all-around genuine creepiness,
it will be the light of day, and even better yet, the
Sunshine of public commentary and open ridicule,
the best disinfectant of all.

Public ridicule is the gift that keeps on giving,
especially when as will be the case you read
about here, it is so richly deserved.

And I really wouldn't be your blog friend if I didn't
name this person's enablers and allies in their covert
mission to lie, deceive and subvert the truth in our
community, now would I?

Making an example of this person?
Yes, yes, yes say I with such glee!

But this person will soon learn that's the life of
a spy on a municipal payroll, being paid with
taxpayer dollars, after their true identity
is exposed.

And trust me, dear friends, that will just be the
beginning of the public flogging-cum-spring cleaning
that will be taking place in this city, where long-held
personal and professional secrets and deceptions will
be exposed to the light of day for all to see -and be
utterly sickened by them, if I'm any judge.

Moral turpitude in Hallandale Beach, where the mayor
thinks nothing of calling her political opponents "Nazis"
while at City Hall?
You bet!
We've got it in bulk and we've got it to spare!

Whether the lazy, condescending and often low-rent
South Florida news media wants to cover it or not,
be they Miami Herald or South Florida Sun-Sentinel
or any of the many snoozing TV station news operations
who've consciously ignored what was, literally,
right in front of them.

The condescending attitude. on top of ignoring what's
actually going on, yet saying with false humility that
they really want to be kept in the loop with tips via
emails from yours truly on the sly, was a perfect storm
last week with what I wrote but which you still haven't
seen or read elsewhere.

But after next week, no more suffering of fools gladly
in order to get the truth out.

I won't need them and you won't either. especially once
the formal investigations begin and facts come raining
out of the sky like a thunderstorm -in buckets.

And trust me, once you hear the truth, you will want
so very much to hear even more.

And I will only be too happy to oblige and dish it out
in very manageable bite-size portions.
Bon appetit!

August 2016 update about above: As I could have predicted, once again, the fake candidate failed to file the appropriate paperwork and fee with the City of Hollywood, and so his name will NOT appear on ballot.

New this year: you!

New this year: you!
Close-up photo of the cute head-turning window display I snapped in 2013 at the Apotek Hjärtat -Sweden's largest independent pharmacy chain- located at Ringvägen 113, near the Skanstull T-bana in Södermalm, Stockholm. Sign reads, "Årets nyhet: du! Ett helt nytt och obrukat år är här. Just nu känns det lite lättare att välja om, förändra vanor och bryta gamla mönster. Vi hjälper gärna till. Du vill, du kan, du törs!' (New this year: you! A brand new and unused year is here. Right now it feels a little easier to choose, change habits and break old patterns. We're happy to help. You want to, you can, you dare!) Sounds like good advice that I ought to be following, too! January 12, 2013 photo by South Beach Hoosier.© 2013 Hallandale Beach Blog, All Rights Reserved

The colder and snowier it got in Stockholm, the more this simple ad seemed like genius. Sometimes, you don't have to reinvent the advertising wheel. When you're a travel agency and it's cold and snowing, make your target audience think of summers and traveling to an inviting warm beach. Above, one of the many Sistaminuten.se display ads I saw on the side of pay phones throughout Stockholm. This one was located on Ringvägen, across the street from the Åhléns Dept. store (with the Hemköp grocery store in the basement that I frequented) west of busy Götgatan and the Skanstull T-bana, the southern commercial heart of trendy and fun Södermalm. More travel advertising in Stockholm

More travel advertising in Stockholm
Speaking of advertising, only two blocks from the wonderful 4trappor B&B I stayed at in Södermalm, Stockholm on my trip -and also located on Ringvägen- were two more display ads promoting travel. The one in the distance is for SAS, Scandinavian Airlines Systems, which I flew on to Stockholm, and the one in the foreground, on a public telephone booth, is the "Holiday is where the Heart is" ad campaign for VING. Which European country has the most attractive citizens?

As seen in my July 31st, 2013 blog post titled, "Which European country has the most attractive citizens?" Sweden won in a landslide with almost four times as many votes as second-place France, with Spain third and Norway fourth. Yes, seeing is believing!; Norwegian.com's non-stop flights from Fort Lauderdale to Oslo start in 4 months! :) http://hallandalebeachblog.blogspot.com/2013/07/boredpandacom-poll-of-europeans-asked.html
