Mounting public anger & criticism of Obama & Hillary's dithering foreign policy failures in aftermath of Cairo & Benghazi attacks; Facts finally starting to penetrate MSM's pro-Obama narrative and defense shield on this story even while ABC's "World News With Diane Sawyer" lays one egg-after-another

publiusforum video: CNN's Nic Robertson Interviews Brother of Blind Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman in Cairo on September 10, 2011. Uploaded September 13, 2012. http://youtu.be/tPszLCEyu-I

*FYI: CIA Director David Petraeus will be meeting with House Intelligence Committee members this morning*

Though it's the newscast that I always watch and prefer, Thursday night's "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" was one of the worst in quite some time, more noteworthy for what they neglected to say than anything they actually reported -never a good sign.

This case of collective hysterical amnesia at the alphabet network seemed especially curious in light of interesting news reports that emerged over the course of the day that only gathered steam as the day went on, as they made even more preposterous many of the Mainstream Media's claims of the day before and that morning's daily newspapers.

The facts simply wouldn't cooperate and fit their assumptions.

These were all "facts" that that you reasonably expected to see mentioned at some point in a national newscast when the subject of the riots and murder in Benghazi and Cairo came up

and yet...

Yes, sometimes even when Diane Sawyer is standing right there in the middle of it, the absence of evidence is evidence itself, and so is the refusal of her news program to mention these inconvenient facts when it goes against the Mainstream Media narrative of that morning.

Here's just a small list of what WASN'T mentioned on Thursday night's "ABC World News with Diane Sawyerhttp://abcnews.go.com/WN/

1.) Libyan government announced that organized and heavily-armed groups used the so-called film protests as a cover to stage coordinated attacks.

Yes, the rocket-propelled grenades are always a tip-off that civic discourse is not at the top of someone's agenda.

[And why so much reluctance by ABC News and the rest of the Mainstream Media in the U.S. to mention how often variations of "Osama, we are with you" was heard a week at the protests one week  after the DNC mentioned Osama Bin Laden 21 times with respect to their famous hunter Obama practically killing Bin Laden himself.

TV and print reporters in other countries who speak Arabic and who are there on the ground are mentioning it, so why aren't U.S. reporters mentioning how often the words "Osama" and "Obama" are mentioned in the same sentence, and not in a positive light?

Speaking of speaking the language of the place you are reporting from, how's Barbara Raddatz's Arabic?
Perhaps Paul Ryan will ask her at the October 11th Vice-Presidential debate she is moderating.

No need to do that, I can answer that question for you.

ABC News reporter Barbara Raddatz, like so many other American A-list reporters routinely go to countries where they don't speak the language -like Arabic- and have to be totally dependent on others to explain what in the hell is going on.
So, why do we need to hear from her then?
Good question.

But ABC News doesn't care that she doesn't actually understand what is being said all around here while she is supposed to be reporting.

To them, the most important thing is that she's there -is showing the ABC flag.
That's NOT the most-important thing to me -facts are.
(She was in washington on Thursday night)

2.) Why nothing at all about this f-ed up situation with Larry Schwartz at the U.S. embassy in Cairo? Guess they were too busy trying to find another Republican in DC to criticize Romney.
Anonymously, of course.

One staffer at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo was responsible for the statement and tweets Tuesday that have become grist for the presidential campaign, and that staffer ignored explicit State Department instructions not to issue the statement, one U.S. official close to the issue told The Cable.
Two additional administration officials confirmed the details of this account when contacted late Wednesday by The Cable.

3.) All Thursday morning and afternoon, credible reports emerged that despite what President Obama said about the Libyan security forces helping transport Ambassador Christopher Stevens to another building per their protocol, credible stories that members of the Libyan security forces had in fact signaled to the armed organized groups that were there to storm the consulate that the move was taking place.
The groups already knew that Stevens would be moved, they just weren't sure where.
Once they knew, it was easy to fire their rockets right at him.

It was literally like he was herded into the scene of his death.
This was not mentioned at all on ABC's newscast

Uh-oh! Mira!
Here's something finally penetrating the MSM's invisible force field

Official: Libyan insiders may have aided assault
Updated 6:45 a.m. ET

(CBA/AP) BENGHAZI, Libya — Heavily armed militants used a protest of an anti-Islam film as a cover and may have had help from inside Libyan security in their deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate, a senior Libyan official said Thursday.
As Libya announced the first four arrests, the clearest picture yet emerged of a two-pronged assault, with militants screaming "God is great!" as they scaled the consulate's outer walls and descended on the compound's main building.

4.) Surprise! Reports throughout the day emerged that U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson wouldn't allow U.S. Marines guarding the embassy compound to carry live ammunition.
http://nation.time.com/2012/09/13/whats-worse-no-marines-or-possibly-unarmed-marines/

With all their resources and personnel, how is ABC News unable to either confirm or deny this story by 6:30 p.m. Eastern?

Or mention that she was in Washington at the time?
Really, how can that be?

If it turns out to be true, like you, I can hardly wait to hear the future interviews with the Marines and their leaders back in Washington on the fact that the very people most-responsible for the safety of U.S. personnel were reduced to playing the role of Barney Fife, who, lovable as he was, famously, wasn't allowed to have a loaded gun while he was on-duty in Mayberry.

And as if I even have to mention it, Ambassador Ann Patterson's name was never spoken on-air Thursday. Again.
Hmm-m...

Honestly, what is it about female U.S. Ambassadors posted to the creepy patriarchal Middle East, and their own feelings of protocol and or inadequacy, that actually cause them to threaten U.S.lives thru their queer policy pronouncements?

If true, unfortunately, Anne Patterson's bad decision-making will remind many of us that after the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole in 2000, the last year of the Clinton Administration, the U.S. Ambassador to Yemen, Barbara Bodineimposed all sorts of rules on the U.S. officials sent to investigate the bombing that took place on her watch.

She seemed to be the very stereotype of a spiteful feminist who wanted to keep men at a distance even though they were the ones who had any power on the block she lived on.
Instead of letting common sense prevail, she said that allowing so many FBI and CIA agents -read assertive men- would send the 'wrong signals' about who really ran U.S. foreign policy.

She forgot that it wasn't her.

She was the worker bee who works for us, not the other way around.

In case you forgot or never knew the exact details, Bodine was the stick-up-her-ass PC U.S. Ambassador to Yemen who tried to thwart the Cole investigation and famously took steps to revoke the visa of FBI Special Agent John O'Neill, the FBI's leading expert on al Qaeda and on-scene commander in Yemen after he arrived from New York with his team of counter-terrorism agents.
Yes, really.

Among so many other things that seem contrary to U.S. interests, Bodine famously intervened and prevented his re-entry into Yemen after he'd flown back to New York for Thanksgiving 2000.
O'Neill, of course, died ten months later in the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers

Here is what PBS says on their Frontline website about that situation in October of 2000.
I usually would not put so much of that here, but it's important that you see what part of her decision-making rings familiar today, considering Patterson's orders.
Arriving in Yemen, O'Neill finds challenging field conditions. His agents confront 102-degree heat and a cramped, unsecured hotel for their quarters. O'Neill soon finds himself clashing with Barbara Bodine, the U.S. ambassador to Yemen, who is concerned about the number of FBI agents and military personnel flooding into the country after the bombing. O'Neill argues that the FBI needs resources to thoroughly investigate the attack. Bodine has different priorities, including maintaining good relations with Yemen. "I had to act as a cultural interpreter. They have endured first British colonialism, and then the Soviets. These people have only had foreigners telling them what to do. Now O'Neill and his men were coming in, doing essentially the same thing," Bodine later told Britain's The Sunday Times.
As relations between the two sour, the number of topics they disagree on multiplies. O'Neill wants a heavily-armed security presence; Bodine wants the agents to be unarmed. O'Neill wants to have direct access to Yemeni officials; Bodine feels she should supervise encounters. As O'Neill starts to seek support from Barry Mawn and other FBI officials back in the U.S., the cables sent by Bodine to the State Department become increasingly critical of O'Neill. It reaches the point where Louis Freeh and Janet Reno become personally involved in the dispute.

Lynda Meier's disappearance one-year later: apathy and absence of effort & thought by the HBPD and the South Florida news media loom larger than ever

June 4, 2011 photo of Hallandale Beach Police Dept. HQ, across from HB City Hall, by South Beach Hoosier. On the one-year anniversary of Lynda Meier's disappearance, just as has been the case every single day since she vanished last June 4th, there was no flyer about her on the outside of the HB Police Dept., the City Hall bldg. or the nearby HB Cultural Center. Or anywhere in the entire city. SNAFU!

To those of you all whom have asked or written me about this past weekend being the one-year anniversary of the disappearance of Hallandale Beach resident Lynda Meier -a woman I never met but whose case I have consistently written about in this space- and why I consciously chose not to mention it, despite having a plan in place to do so for weeks if not months, I have an answer for you.

The answer is that in the last few weeks, as the date of June 4th loomed larger and larger, I realized that my original purpose in bringing to light certain key facts about how the story was publicly communicated to the local populace by the Hallandale Beach Police Dept., which is to say, BOTCHED, in a fashion that would be instantly recognizable to anyone who has any sort of understanding of how law enforcement agencies work a disappearance the first 72 hours, much less, by anyone who's ever watched a depiction of how they respond as shown in film or TV, I realized that the South Florida news media's overwhelmingly incurious behavior and lack of follow-through was as big a part of this story as any other.
How could it not be?
But how do you physically show on a blog, the absence of effort by the news media?

Rather late in the process, I decided that rather than do my thing this past weekend, complete with long-promised photos of some things you haven't seen anywhere else, I would wait patiently and bide my time.

I'd observe carefully and write about who, if anyone in the local South Florida press corps reported on the anniversary and whether they stuck to the softball coverage of the story, essentially, acting as stenographers for the HB Police Dept., NOT genuine independent reporters with a desire to move the story forward in ways that we would all recognize from what we have personally observed or seen in the rest of the country when these sort of inexplicable things have happened, not apathetic South Florida.

Apathetic South Florida residents and the corresponding apathetic news media who pretend to delve into issues are a match made in hell for the discerning citizen and well-informed news junkie. A conspiracy of jokers who need to be implored to do the very minimum and who ignore the public, regardless of what sort of BS they feed you about really caring what their readers or viewers think or want in news coverage.
They don't care and they don't want to hear from you either, even if you know something useful they and the public don't know.

I knew going in that if anyone publicly asked the long overdue probing questions to the Hallandale Beach authorities, they'd be a lonely island.

Especially if they publicly challenged the new HB Police Chief, Dwayne Fluornoy, who was prominently featured at the Meier press conferences last year when a Major.
He is someone who has completely underwhelmed me and many other concerned HB residents since he has been in charge, on this and many other issues in the city involving public safety and crime.
I never thought he should get the job and he is now showing just why.

His stubborn refusal to acknowledge reality, and make LONG OVERDUE policy changes that better utilize resources and personnel, instead, maintaining the tired and completely ineffective approach that hasn't worked since I moved here in 2003, is one of the reasons for the large jump in crime here in Hallandale Beach, as well as the HUGE increase in graffiti in well-traveled public areas that are seen by everyone and which are never dealt with.
HGS
anyone?

Above, the pseudo-story in April about the new HB police chief in the faux-newspaper that HB taxpayers continue to subsidize to the tune of tens of thousand of dollars every year on behalf of Mayor Joy Cooper and her Rubber Stamp Crew and the City Manager's office. Yet it still can't even list simple information correctly, witness the so-called North Beach Community Center's grand opening in January, which it ignored, despite City Manager Mark Antonio saying publicly the week before THAT was how HB City Hall would communicate with the residents in the future. Antonio didn't care that NOBODY reads it!

Considering the large percentage of taxpayer money gobbled-up in the city's budget by the Hallandale Beach Police Dept. for personnel costs, there are surprisingly few actual police officers on the street where and when you need them, and hard as it seems to believe, they seem more oblivious to what's right in front of them than ever.
Trust me, this WILL be coming out at upcoming city budget meetings.

Yes, all these things and more will be discussed here soon, with specific examples of the general sloth, indifference and obliviousness of both the South Florida news media to the Lynda Meier story-line, and the corresponding lack of effort by the HB Police Dept. -and their fan club of HB Crime Watch, which was then led by present-day HB Comm. Alexander Lewy- to do ANY of the things that are done within 72 hours of a disappearance to get info from the public, which were COMPLETELY MISSING here.

Yes, those long-promised photos of mine showing the empty windows and empty bulletin boards of retail stores and other businesses and the like along U.S.-1, Hallandale Beach Blvd. and State Road A1A that in a normal city, would have had at least one MISSING flyer with Meier's likeness.

Compare and contrast the competency of efforts and sense of urgency in my beloved Bloomington right now, with the dithering of Hallandale Beach police last year -it's striking!

You'll see those photos and other information here soon, once I have given certain reporters, producers and columnists the benefit of the doubt, for many of them, for the very last time.

The longer I live in Hallandale Beach and Broward County and see for myself how things are consistently done in a half-assed and unsatisfactory fashion, the less I give government officials & employees and members of the South Florida news media the benefit of the doubt.
And that change in attitude will be quite apparent in future posts from here on in -no more Mr. Nice Guy.

Hallandale Beach mayor Joy Cooper & Comm. Dotty Ross get caught in their malicious political intimidation on Federal property. Can you spell F-B-I?

City of Hallandale Beach Commissioner Dotty Ross returning to the scene of the crime on Monday afternoon, camera in tow.

More proof, as if needed, of what can happen when your town's mayor is a well-known bully who will stop at nothing to destroy her political opponents, be they other elected officials or just citizens, albeit, citizens whom she has previously called "Nazis" at public meetings on City Hall property, thinking that nobody could hear her.
But they did.

(And by they, I mean myself, who was sitting alone in Room 215 at HB City Hall, waiting for a public City Commission meeting to start, and jotting down some thoughts in my trusty composition book that I use to take notes, an open can of Dr. Peper and a cup of Panera Bread coffee at the ready t stay properly caffeinated for what looked to be a very dull meeting.
Until, while talking to HB Commissioner Bill Julian upon entering the room, the mayor referred to me as a "Nazi" and calling HB Commissioner Keith London "a Hitler.")

So guess who foolishly walked into a trap on Sunday night, Halloween, directly across the street from Hallandale Beach City Hall, and was caught red-handed on film?

And guess who would be stupid enough to return to the scene of the crime on Monday afternoon to gloat a bit and take photos of her personal handiwork.
Well, I'll give you two guesses, and Amelia Earhart and Princess Anastasia of Russia will not be accepted.

Yes, dear readers, you're reading my mind: the answer is Hallandale Beach mayor Joy Cooper, current President of the Florida League of Cities -for now- and one of the loyal members of her Rubber Stamp Crew at HB City Hall, Comm. Dotty Ross, who so recently and famously created a public row by her cruel and insensitive -and perhaps even racist- remarks, for which she has yet to publicly apologize.

As if nobody heard Ross at a City Commission meeting -but people were there and it was broadcast live and recorded!
But nobody in the press asks about it.

Ross was publicly taken to task recently at a City Commission meeting by a HB citizen who recounted excatly what had taken place previously, but Ross just sat silently in her chair, as usual, the public's words going in one ear and out the other.
No, like her ethically-challenged friend and colleague on the City Commission, Bill Julian, desperately trying to stay in office, and our dear mayor, not only does Ross have a grand sense of entitlement, but like them, Ross doesn't know the meaning of the word remorse.

Ross is the older partner in crime who was, indeed, stupid enough, to return Monday afternoon, barely more than 12 hours after they'd been in that same U.S. Post Office parking lot to participate in an egregiously malicious and possibly even criminal act on Federal property, all which was aimed squarely at Hallandale Beach Comm. Keith London, who is running for re-election today.

Not that what the Cooper Crew said about African-American Congressman Kendrick Meek was acceptable, either, though I am personally very dismissive of him in general as most of you now.

I know this because I was there thirty minutes before Cooper & Ross and their masked gang of creeps were led into the parking lot by -yes!- a Hallandale Beach Police Dept. vehicle with its red beacon flashing, along with a city-owned outhouse on a tow truck flatbed driven by the city's contracted tow truck operator.

I captured some of the creepy moments in photos and video, most of which you will all be seeing in the coming days after I make some more copies for some people who might be investigating this soon.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/investigate/civilrights/hate_crimes/hate_crimes

Sadly, I was not present when at least a few members of this same crew drove around the city afterwards defacing London's larger and more expensive campaign signs, which prompted the Hallandale Beach Police Dept. to start looking for them, and for official complaints to be made.

And you just thought it was boring, muggy Sunday night in Hallandale Beach?
This post today is just a teaser of what is to come, as the pendulum slowly swings back towards normalcy and possible legal trouble for the Cooper Crew's reign of sheer idiocy and incompetency that have made this city a veritable laughingstock in South Florida for years, with Cooper as Queen Bee.

I have lots of photos from Sunday night that will make this whole episode much more easy to comprehend.

Question:
Has anyone who ever served as President of the Florida League of Cities before ever been stripped of that title before the year was up due to mis-conduct?

Hmm-m-m... I don't know the answer to that question.

I might just have to call their office up this week and ask them that question directly, because it seems like a pretty good one to ask publicly, as surely even for that dubious honorific, there must be some sort of ethical and professional standards of conduct, no matter how low, right?

Still, once more people start finding out the truth about what transpired Sunday night and hear just exactly what was posted on the outhouse, it's rather inevitable that people might also just begin to wonder if that crown might have to be worn by someone not named Joy Cooper, as once again, Joy Cooper's personal hatred has led her to participate in yet another creepy and murky escapade.

This time, because she and Ross and their pals were on Federal property when they engaged in their conduct, her regal status in this town will be completely meaningless to any law enforcement professionals investigating this.
To them, she's a nobody.

Where is the FBI when you need them?

Even weirder than Ross coming back to snap photos of her handiwork was her trying (unsuccessfully) to provoke some sort of physical confrontation with me as I was talking and walking outside of the Post Office with the Hallandale Beach Postmaster about some longstanding safety concerns at the branch. The Postmaster was not at all happy with Dotty Ross.

Pathetic!

Above, part of what Ross was taking a photo of, which has her own handwriting on it.

It just wouldn't be another embarrassing ethical incident involving Joy Cooper unless there was at least some ham-handed attempt by her minions and cronies to pump up her enormous-but-fragile ego, would it, even when she is trying to personally intimidate and embarrass political rival Keith London?
Nope!
