My favorite excerpt from above: By allowing such a degradation in its premium advertising space (a home page is supposed to be just that), the HuffPo acknowledges that its content is, in fact, cheap. It therefore admits that volume, rather than targeting or relevance, drives the value of its content.
Of course, I like that because it tends to correspond to my intuition about the HuffPo, but... on the other hand, I actually read Arianna's book on Picasso when it first came out over 20 years ago, when she had a very different persona.
