It will be telecast around the world via SVT Play at http://www.svtplay.se/video/1272214/6-6-20-00 and via Mobile with the SVT app.

Can't even imagine how beautiful this breathtakingly beautiful woman will look in her Valentino bridal dress come Saturday.

To almost everyone's amusement or consternation, depending upon your personality, less than four days from her wedding, Princess  Madeleine got stopped by attentive Stockholm Police in central Stockholm for driving a vehicle in the prohibited Bus Lane.
(If you didn't know, downtown Stockholm also has a congestion tax.)

She claimed to the police -and a Royal Court spokesman later claimed as well- that she had a special permit that allowed her to do so.
http://tv.aftonbladet.se/webbtv/nyheter/live/article13428.ab

Further investigation by the news media determined fairly conclusively that while she had the permit, it specifically allows vehicles to use that restricted lane only in connection with state purposes, i.e. rolling motorcades for visiting heads of state and diplomats to get them from Point A to point B, NOT for running pre-wedding errands.

In my opinion, she'd be foolish to continue to press the matter and should simply pay the fine.

Last October's much-discussed and imitated engagement/förlovning announcement by Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill

has now turned into golden opportunities for some, including very successful low-fare airline Norwegian Air and its founder and CEO, Bjørn Kjos, in one of their newest videos

As regular readers of this blog know by now, Norwegian begins non-stop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Oslo in late November, and between Fort Lauderdale and Stockholm the first week of December, the latter of which may very well include me on-board that first week, as I was busy checking-out some some possible plans over this past weekend for being there for a while before Christmas.

Questions, questions and more questions about Tuesday's important Broward County Commission meeting re possible audit of controversial Hallandale Beach CRA; Meeting now has an added feature: City Manager Miller and CRA Attorney Zelkowitz who publicly argued that the Broward IG didn't have legal authority over the HB CRA, will now be speaking and playing the role of Wiley E. Coyote before the boulder falls on them. Must-see TV! HB citizens want the truth, not more stonewalling, finger-pointing and spin from city's elected officials and city employees

While I hope that as many of you reading this as possible make an earnest effort to try to attend the meeting in-person on Tuesday morning to be supportive of the effort to finally get a meaningful audit of the Hallandale Beach CRA and where all the millions went, which will be made in-person by Hallandale Beach City Commissioner Michele Lazarow and former HB Commissioner Keith London, it will be available by webcast: agenda item #87, at http://broward.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=5

I'll be there to not only watch the proceedings and see who shows up in the chambers, but also to record it for posterity and later uploading to my YouTube Channel at some point.

You need to keep in mind, though, that while there's a lot of consent agenda at the beginning of the meeting, the question of when the item will actually come up is entirely up to the various whims of the Commission, depending upon what gets pulled or moved around.

Which is to say that your concept and my concept of time and space are NOT always the same as their's, so you may need to turn the volume of your computer down a bit lest you become hypnotized by all the talk about RFP's, advisory boards and an alphabet city of environmental groups having something or another to do with the airport and some very bad stuff under the ground there.
In other words, stay caffeinated!

And in case you forgot where you lived, here's a photo of the HQ of a place where you have never been able to find anything meaningful or truthful about what was going on with the HB CRA or the scandal involving it: the CRA-subsidized faux newspaper.

The faux newspaper that serves as a propaganda arm to Hallandale Beach City Hall, which was specifically cited in the Broward Inspector General's final report. April 17, 2013 photo by South Beach Hoosier. (c) 2013 Hallandale Beach Blog, All Rights Reserved.

Below, following the meeting info, is my email of late this afternoon to Broward County Commissioners Sue Gunzburger and Barbara Sharief and many other interested parties throughout the Sunshine State, especially here in Hallandale Beach and Broward County.
Lots of good facts there, especially for those of you who have not been following the story closely.

June 3rd, 2013
4:45 p.m.

Dear Commissioners Gunzburger and Sharief:

I just heard the good news this afternoon that Hallandale Beach City Manager Renee Miller and HB CRA Attorney Steven Zelkowitz have formally requested an opportunity to speak in-person before the entire Commission on Tuesday in response to this agenda item.
I couldn't be more pleased.

I'm particularly interested in hearing the comments of Ms. Miller, who assured me last summer in-person when we spoke for about ten minutes or so that she was indeed a "reformer," and wanted very much to end what was publicly perceived as the culture of deceit and misinformation that has long existed at Hallandale Beach City Hall as de facto policy, and instead, bring more public transparency to it so that citizens would have more confidence in what was being said and done in their behalf.

These comments of hers to me followed her speaking for at least 30 minutes to dozens of very-concerned and well-informed HB residents who posed tough questions to her, wherein she closed by asking everyone in the room for a fair chance to be judged based on her own record, not their assumptions, which is not at all an unreasonable request.

As a longtime critic of the consistent way things have been done in such egregiously unprofessional, incompetent and aggressive ways at HB City Hall, where logic and reason seldom if ever intersected, I hoped for the best and was  prepared to believe her once she'd become more familiar with the city and its many problems and had some time to initiate these changes she spoke about, though in more vague terms than I'd have liked.

I say "interested" in hearing her comments because the truth is that by any reasonable standard, using her own track record, Ms. Miller has been anything but a "reformer" since then, and has engaged in precisely the sort of stealthy, unsavory and below-the-radar conduct and behavior that not only completely contradicts everything she said last summer, but which is identical to the very problems SHE was supposed to rectify when she was hired last year.
But isn't, of course.

Under her "leadership" the city was scheduled to hold a public meeting that was advertised as being the latest occasional Visioning meeting to discuss the city's future.
Well, they planned to do so, but that meeting was postponed and re-scheduled.

But on the very day the public meeting was scheduled to be held -held NOT at HB City Hall but in a city park building- the meeting did NOT appear on the city's own website calendar, and the public that showed-up was NOT allowed to speak or ask questions or even correct the record when "facts" were stated that were anything but facts.

Which would've made great TV for anyone in HB watching at home on cable TV except for the fact that the city, which is to say Ms. Miller, chose NOT to allow TV cameras inside to either broadcast the public meeting LIVE or to record it for viewing on cable TV or viewing on the city's website later, as has happened in the past.
I mean it's only the city's future, right?

So with that in mind, here are some assorted thoughts, facts and questions you may want to ponder as this agenda item is discussed and Mr. Zelkowitz and Ms.Miller try their best to defend the indefensible and keep HB taxpayers in the dark about what really has been happening for years to all that money with zero accountability and responsible follow-up by city employees, despite their job titles and salaries.

After all the many months this scandal has consumed in wasted time, energy and taxpayer dollars, here's what we know as of now for facts.

The City of Hallandale Beach still has NOT placed a copy of the Broward IG Report on their own website NOR have they publicly posted their official response.

That very same city website that all these months since he was hired, still doesn't list the public email address of the CRA Director, Daniel Rosemond, the man brought in by Ms. Miller from the city she used to work for last year.

Mr. Rosemond is here to do something for the CRA, though what that something actually is is not at all entirely clear based on his record thus far, since he seems to have already forgotten that we don't work for him, he works for us, the residents of this city.

You see, as if the HB CRA didn't have enough problems with public trust and confidence -that is to say, the public's complete lack of trust and confidence in them and their policies- Mr. Rosemond had no problem in showing-up at a public event in March where neither Ms. Miller or any members of the City Commission were present, and within a matter of minutes
was repeatedly telling the assembled HB citizens that he was supposed to be reassuring, that he had "no obligation" to meet with them.

So, this is the new guy brought in by Ms. Miller to change the culture of corruption and incompetency that has NOT been properly held accountable?
An arrogant person who insults taxpayers and small business owners who know far more about the problems with the CRA than HE does from first-hand experience?

For at least ten weeks, as I've written you previously, the city was in violation of Florida law and the city's own ordinance by NOT publicly disclosing the Lobbyist and Visitor logs, meaning that even as the city in the form of Ms. Miller was publicly saying the IG had no authority and then later said the report was wrong, the city was violating the law. Period

And who was directly involved in some of these meetings with a developer that were NOT being properly disclosed when it was supposed to be?
The new CRA Director.
Oops!!!

This fact is already known to both the Broward IG's Office and the Broward State Attorney's Office, not that they've done anything about it publicly yet, which raises its own questions for dumbfounded HB residents, who wonder why the latter in particular seems SO very disinterested in paying attention to what has been going on here for years in plain sight.

1.) How much money in attorney fees and personnel costs has the City of Hallandale Beach spent in defending their myriad legal positions that are clearly in opposition to the best long-term interests of its citizen taxpayers since the Broward IG's Office first began their investigation of the city?

2.) How much of that came AFTER the preliminary report was issued that the city was asked to respond to, neither of which were posted on the city's website?

3.) Lest you doubt the veracity of what I've written here, here's what the City of Hallandale Beach has on its own website as of 4:30 p.m. today about the Broward Inspector General's preliminary report and the final report, as well as the city's official public response to them
Nothing.
Really.
Teaser Alert: That's not by accident.

It's simply not enough to say that you want to change things for the better, you actually have to follow-thru and make good on them.

I truly hope that you will both be very firm in your questioning of Ms. Miller and press her to answer reasonable questions that she has refused to answer publicly for many months as she has engaged in finger-pointing and stonewalling.

In my opinion, thru her own words and actions, Ms. Miller has already lost the trust and confidence of HB citizens who closely follow what's really going on in this city
As more and more HB citizens open their eyes and slowly find out the truth about what has been allowed to take place with her in charge, that disapproval and distrust of her will only grow.

It's unfortunate, but the buck ultimately stops with Ms. Miller.

Please vote to give HB taxpayers the truth they were owed years ago but prevented from finding-out by the very people who were supposed to be working FOR them -their elected officials and city administrators.

Our 'Full of Keys' drought is finally over! Full of Keys (a.k.a. the amazing Anni Bernhard) will be playing a showcase in New York City at Cake Shop on June 10th as part of the week-long New Music Seminar. Her new album was recorded recently in Gotland, will be mastered in NYC, aiming for a September release -with lots of very big and exciting plans coming soon! @FullOfKeys, @AndreasJismark, #AnniBernhard, #MatsJönsson, #GrazingGrounds, #NMS2013, #NYMF, #CakeShop

They see music everywhere they look! Above, Andreas Jismark, Anni Bernhard and Mats Jönsson outside of the Shanti Indian Wok restaurant in Södermalm, Stockholm, Sweden, after our meeting over lunch inside. Delicious food with a great atmosphere! And yes, eagle-eyed blog readers will notice that's a "Keith London for Mayor of Hallandale Beach Mayor" bag in Anni's hand, full of some goodies I brought along for them from South Florida. These light-but-strong recyclable bags were real attention-getters as I walked around greater Stockholm for nine days with my various writing pads and cameras inside them, in part because they're the very same colors as the Swedish flag -gold and blue. Our 'Full of Keys' drought is finally over! Full of Keys -a.k.a. the amazing Anni Bernhard- will be playing a showcase in New York City at Cake Shop on June 10th as part of the 2013 New Music Seminar/New York Music Festival. Almost five months after I finally met dynamic and super-talented Swedish singer Anni Bernhard of Full of Keys in-person for the first time, in Stockholm, over lunch with her and her savvy and personable manager, Andreas Jismark, and band member and DJ extraordinaire Mats Jönsson, today I'm finally able to share with you all some very positive news that I'd promised to keep a tight lid on until the time was finally right.

Well, today's that fateful day!
And what good news it is for those of us who've really become quite taken over the last few years with Anni's self-evident talent and engaging personality.

Anni and her talented and diligent team have some very exciting news that I'm happy to finally be able to share with you after a couple of hints in some of my blog posts the past five months.
Thank goodness, too, because the news is so positive, I don't know how much longer I was going to be able to keep it quiet -and off the blog.

Separately and collectively, Anni, Andreas and Mats have all been very busy juggling several balls in the air the past few months, and as the weeks on the calendar flew by and the snow on the ground in Stockholm finally started melting away for good, one key date loomed on the horizon with exclamation points.

For Team Anni, that was the important week in mid-April to be spent brainstorming, jamming and laying down some tracks at Sandkvie Studio in Visby, Gotland of Anni's unique brand of thoughtful and clever music and lyrics, with that voice I so love.

But then when you're dealing with such talented, conscientious and professional people, all of whom have very high standards and expectations for themselves, and what they expect to bring with them into the recording studio, it's not-so-surprising that the demands on them grew as the week in April approached.

But the singular and collective pressures only made them more determined to produce something great in the form of the second Full of Keys album, to be called The Grazing Grounds.

I'm happy to tell you that everything went great while doing the initial recording in Gotland, as well as some more recent mixing.
As recent as 8:25 a.m. Thursday!
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151453461854716&set=vb.119691554772511&type=2&theater

They all seem pleased indeed that everything had been so very productive and satisfying.
But that's what you get when talented people prepare as diligently as they have been preparing for months for this album and new opportunity to reach new fans.

I'm also pleased to say that despite the increased workload of the past few weeks, Anni has been very diligent about ramping-up her public profile Social Media-wise on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as the recently updated Full of Keys blog, where Anni has been writing more frequently than in the past, with lots of clever and amusing updates that were no doubt a byproduct of all the positive energy they had in Visby and then later in Stockholm while trying to create the best possible sound.
Lots of irony!

Me being me, I wish she'd write even more, but then she's working on a record album, not a blog post, so...

Here's one tweet of Anni's in particular that I wanted to draw your attention to for reasons that should be obvious:

Notice anything familiar in this photo she tweeted that day, which also appeared on her blog?
Specifically, the ball cap on Anni's head?
You are correct, dear reader!

It's one of the teal-colored Miami Dolphins caps I brought along with me to Sweden specifically to keep snow and sunshine off that friendly and expressive face of hers.
(It's one of the goodies in that bag she's carrying in the photo up at the top.)

Pictured above, left-to-right, are Anni Bernhard (Full of Keys), sound engineer and co-producer Linus Larsson and Mats Jönsson, April 12, 2013, Sandvie Studios, Visby, Gotland.
For comparison's sake for those of you not in North America and who have no idea of what that cap really looks like, since the photo above is Black & White, here's what my identical Miami Dolphins cap looks like, which I always wore during the day while walking thru Stockholm for nine days, taking pictures with my cameras and mental images with my head.

And sometimes wear at Panera Bread here in Hallandale Beach, Florida, about 4975 miles away, as in this April 30th shot.

As you can see by the photos below that I snapped right before and after the three of them swung by and met me in front of the wonderful 4Trappor B&B I stayed at the first five days of my January trip, too much bright sunshine was definitely NOT the problem we had that first full day of mine in Stockholm, both excited and jet-lagged at the same time.

As I've mentioned previously, this B&B is the top-rated one in Stockholm by Trip Advisor -and for very good reason!

The other BIG NEWS that I'm happy to share with you today is that Anni will be in New York a week from tomorrow, June 10th, performing a set from her Grazing Grounds album at Cake Shop, as part of the 2013 New Music Seminar, which is part of this year's New York Music Festival

Mats will also be on hand in New York to add his unique talents to the mix and make sure that Anni's set is a real success in front of lots of music professionals who will be in attendance.

(Mats and Anni actually performed a set in Stockholm my first night there back in January, but I was so jet-lagged and exhausted after getting little sleep over the two previous days, that I was in no position to be somewhere dark where alcohol was being served.)

Yes, those of you who live in the Tri-State area and environs who want to hear some really great music will finally get a chance to see Anni in-person and see what all the fuss is about for yourselves.
The opportunity you've needed to listen and become true believers!

Anni will be performing next Tuesday at 11 p.m. on what is officially being the Sweden Showcase.
More information about that night at Cake Shop and the other artists performing that night is at

At some point while Anni is in New York, the album will be mastered over at Sterling Sound and she will also try to get some new publicity photos shot as well.
With her imagination, that could really prove to be quite interesting, because Anni definitely has a knack for the visually-arresting image.

Once those photos have been done, you can count on my posting them here ASAP.

So, right about now, a light should be popping into the head of someone at the NY Times Culture Desk and The Village Voice and Rolling Stone as they ponder further investigation of the fact that Sweden -yes, Sweden, a nation of under 10 million people, smaller than Florida- is the world's third-largest exporter of music, after the U.S. and Great Britain.

How better to illustrate this music industry phenomena to music lovers and readers than by actually seeing some very talented visiting artists from Sweden LIVE and in-the-flesh?

8:50 p.m. Postscript:
I was so tired this morning when I was doing my final edit of this post that I somehow neglected to mention this important fact, since it's one of the "keys" to understanding why so many people are working so hard to give this very talented and creative singer the opportunities she needs.

Being a very empathetic person, it's something that I picked-up on from the first moment I met her and continued once we were inside the restaurant and kept talking.
She's very, very likable and charming.
In a truly genuine and unaffected way.
It's my experience that people either are or they aren't -she definitely is.
Just saying...

Above, using my Latitude app on my Samsung cell phone to find out where people I knew were once I checked into the B&B in Södermalm before I tried to reach them by phone or email.
My last blog post on Anni, the one that was sort of cryptic by choice and designed so I wouldn't talk about some news I still can't reveal quite yet, was on February 13, 2013, and was titled

Back in January I told Anni that in my opinion, this video below that was filmed at a hotel in Stenkullen in Västra Götaland had some of the very best elements of all of her many videos, in part because so much of her personality came out in the non-singing parts, the V.O., and she was quite surprised, pleasantly so, at how much detail I still remembered about it almost a year later.
I even mentioned to her that while watching it, I could also visualize what she was doing at the same point in time of the song in the official video she shot for Suicide Bridge.

Turkish House of Cards finally coming apart? Istanbul - Come for the peaceful protests, but stay for the tear gas and the water cannons! Turkey continues to screw-up over-and-over, play the 'heavy,' and cause reasonable Western observers to shake their heads and wonder whether it can now be trusted in the future; blogger Dani Karlsson is right in the middle of the action!

bakshow1 YouTube Channel video: Overview of Gezi Park protests in Istanbul and government's clumsy and heavy-handed response, as seen via Al Jazeera News' English-language service. Uploaded May 31, 2013. http://youtu.be/-MZpzPeeKOk

Taksim Istanbul
by Its me, your Dani June 1st, 2013 15:57

Well, as so often seems to be the case, Swedish model and blogger Dani Karlsson, of "It's me, your Danni" fame, recently in Miami, has found herself in the middle of everything yet again.
I mean really in the right place at the right time.

This week, in the middle of the mass protests by Turkish citizens, chiefly in Istanbul, who don't want the government to chop down some much-needed shade trees and level parts of Gezi Park,  a spot of green amongst acres and acres of concrete, merely to indulge their edifice complex instincts and do some redevelopment in a place where it's both inappropriate and unpopular, though there's no accounting for taste among visiting tourists.

Tens of thousands of regular citizens participated there and eslewhere in Turkey.
And in the case of the former, received complimentary tear gas and water cannons for their troubles.

Dani, who appears on the popular Metromode blogging platform, has lots of photos of her
protest experience at http://dani.metromode.se/2013/06/01/occupy-taksim/

The BBC's take on the government's heavy-handed reaction and the police over-reaction, is interesting:
Correspondents say that what was initially a local issue has spiralled into widespread anti-government unrest and anger over the perceived "Islamisation" of Turkey.
One woman told Agence France-Presse: "They want to turn this country into an Islamist state, they want to impose their vision all the while pretending to respect democracy."

In their dispatch from there today, Reuters deals a lot more with the increasingly-seen authoritarian side of the current Turkish Prime Minister and the grave concerns among secular Turks that he is increasingly willing-accomplice in undoing what modern Turkey had become -a small-case democracy with a majority Muslim population within NATO.

If Erdogan keeps it up, he will be initiating the brain drain that's long been feared.
Once that happens, that country will quickly lose its dynamism and become the land of misfits as companies bolt. leaving the dummies behind.
