TV's most-magical shows -and HBB faves- are back to delight us! :) - Fifth and final season of SyFy's "Merlin" premieres tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern, while "Once Upon A Time" returns to ABC-TV on Sunday at 8 p.m. Eastern

"I feel the weight of my destiny crushing me."
Yes, I know what you mean. I've been feeling the same way, too.
It's a terrible thing to know that you have a great destiny, yet find yourself, more often than not,  toiling amongst the mundane and banal instead of the world of true significance and import you know that you were meant for.

Hmm-m... I hereby propose a contest, Katie McGrath (Morgana) vs. Lana Parrilla (Regina Mills/Evil Queen) for the title of Sexiest & Most-moxie-filled fairy tale character on TV.
The winner faces Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan).
Hello must-see TV!

And seriously, where has Miranda Raison been all my life?
I mean besides in England, of course?

I'd watched her in MI5 (Spooks) as Jo Portman, of course, but hadn't seen the Merlin episode she was in until today, "The Sword in the Stone." http://merlin.wikia.com/wiki/Miranda_Raison
Wow, she really looks good out of the espionage bureaucratic office and in leather -and with a sword!

You know, he said somewhat mischievously, not everyone can carry that off with such panache!

U.S. TV viewers concerned MSM is over-promising Hurricane Irene's possible damage to NYC area -fear it will be disappointing and not spectacular mess

U.S. TV viewers concerned that Mainstream Media is over-promising Hurricane Irene's possible damage to NYC area -fear it will be disappointing blah and not spectacular mess that the hipster reporters promised us.

The media hype, the horror, the human suffering... and that's just among the reporters forced to stand on the beach and think of something original to say when there IS nothing original that can be said.

I'm already starting to think that instead of the quality Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Grade A film that shows you on-screen where every dollar was spent, the type that the U.S. media is gabbing about expecting this weekend, what's more likely is that we'll get one of those terrible Grade C, Made-in-Canada films that air on Syfy Channel with a largely unknown cast that you come across late at night.
The kind where after watching only one segment you say, "Ugh!!! This is un-watchable."

Meanwhile, if parts of Anthony Weiner's former CD, NY-9, are about to go "blub, blub" under water, who will they have in D.C. looking out for them?
Right, nobody.
Just like Gabrielle Gifford's AZ-8 -un-elected staff with no vote or influence.

And supposedly, if you haven't already heard the latest, Rep. Giffords supporters in the Arizona Democratic Party have stated that she won't even publicly announce for another 10 months whether she will seek re-election.
That is to say, in May of 2012.
In my opinion, she should've already resigned -months ago.

Regardless of the circumstances, all Americans are entitled to congressional representation in Washington that can do the job - RIGHT NOW.
Their rights are more important than hers.

If nobody has thought about it already, it might be time to put up some time-lapse cameras around New York right about now so we can see how Battery Park looks as the Hudson River reclaims it.
Compare to how the Dutch saw it the first time almost 400 years ago:

New York Times headline on Monday?
"Irene strikes NYC area with savage fury; poor & minorities especially hard hit"

Latest fey TV genius move "Sounds like slang for syphilis"

James Hibberd's The Live Feed -"Your daily jolt of TV industry buzz"- has long been one of my favorite entertainment websites to read, and Wednesday was no exception.
I caught up with James and read his take from Monday regarding the death-spiral move made by the top genius suit at NBC Universal Cable named Bonnie Hammer, who, to the dismay of actual viewers of The Sci-Fi Channel -which sometimes includes me- has decided to further destroy what little credibility remains there by changing its moniker to Syfy.
Really.

The first thing I thought of?
Sounds like a newly created category on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, MBTI, of which I'm an ENFP. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENFP

Ridicule hardly begins to describe what happens to TV exec Bonnie Hammer in the forums.
It's sort of like watching everyone taking swing-for-the-fences swipes at The Herald at various blog sites and their own forums.
Sometimes, people really hit the sweet spot and connect!
