SVT video of Saab's nEUROn fuselage for new UCAV; Will Brazilian President Rousseff ditch French and buy Saab's Gripen or Boeing F-18 instead for $4B?

SVT Rapport - Här är Saabs nya stridsflygplan
Here's Saab's new fighter plane.
http://svtplay.se/v/2307433/har_ar_saabs_nya_stridsflygplan

This video ran on Wednesday night's Swedish TV (SVT) thirty-minute national newscast and has some English but is mostly in Swedish.

This particular video is available on the SVT Play website until January 25, 2012, and if you are curious enough to want to watch the entire newscast, which features an interesting report on security in Moscow -at 10:56- following the Chechen suicide bombing last week at the airport, you can see it at: http://svtplay.se/v/2307476/rapport/25_1_19_30_-_textat?cb,a1366518,1,f,-1/pb,a1366516,1,f,-1/pl,v,,2308531/sb,p103263,1,f,-1

I've selected the version of the newscast that has closed-captioning so that you can see what some of the words you are hearing actually look like, as it's more logical than it sounds.
You can watch the newscast vid until Tuesday February 1st, and as always, I recommend that you hit the Full screen button on the bottom right marked "
Fullskärm."
The story on the fighter plane comes on at 19:39.

Saab delivers nEUROn fuselage to Dassault Aviation

Also read this story on the $4 billion sale of 36 fighter jets to Brazil from France that may be on the verge of collapsing under new Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and the possibility that Saab or Boeing will swoop-in and take it from Dassault, lock, stock and lavalier.

"Rousseff has indicated she wants to review the political agreement between the two heads of state and "start over" the evaluation process that pitted the Rafale against Boeing Co.'s (BA) F-18 and the Gripen made by Sweden's Saab AB (SAAB-B.SK)"

Interesting May 21st Swedish TV story on boat dumping in South Florida

Meant to post this when I first saw it about three weeks
ago, as I have not seen anyone in South Florida TV do
this topic yet, which has elements of the economy
+ environment + public safety, esp. for night navigation.

It's the sort of news story which, with the proper amount
of time and research, could cause people to say when
they see it, "You know the economy is bad when..."

Båtar dumpas i krisens kölvatten

The SVT website, http://svt.se/ is truly amazing,
in that it is colorful but not overwhelming, and has
good graphics that don't assault your senses.

Their main news homepage is here, http://svtplay.se/c/96255/nyheter
which also includes Rapport, the evening news,
along with the various dayparts and regional versions
for local news, weather and sports.

Obviously, without commercials, they have more
stories to run in their alloted 28 minutes.

Presentation-wise, the website as a whole is just
like the stores of Swedish retailer H&M in that
respect -first two in FL is opening in Orlando-
cool and very inviting and you want to wander
around and see what's what.

See my previous post on H&M from May 12th:

It's also very intuitive over time, since I watch
the SVT news pretty much every night, and
if I miss a day or two, I'm able to catch-up with
stories over the weekend and can see what their
editorial choices were regarding story placement.

Since they are also listed in the order of
presentation, I can not only see which stories
they felt were the most important, but also skip
the ones I'm not interested in.

I'd love to see local Miami TV stations offer
that chron order on a webpage, since presently,
when you go to their webpage, you are presented
with recent news stories but don't have any idea
of where they ran during the particular newscast?
Just a thought.

I should also mention that the quality of the
video is great over my computer, frankly,
as good as if not better than most of the video
I watch on websites of U.S. nets.

They use Meta, their so-called 'secret weapon'.

Tonight's top news story is that a letter of intent
has been signed that will give a viable future to
Saab, following negotiations that involved
Norwegian investors and will result in Swedish
luxury car manufacturer Koenigsegg buying
Saab from General Motors, beating out two
other bidders.

Nothing like having access to the primary
source for every other report on this subject!

For reasons that I'll explain here some time in
the future, I'm very partial to both Saab and
Volvo, in the latter's case, the XC90, which
is only the most comfortable and safest car
I've ever driven.
