I can hardly wait to hear about this D.C. trip at the next Hallandale Beach City Commission meeting when the agenda gets to "Other."
The one always held up in the second floor City Hall room, 257, where hardly any citizens dare to venture, which is why Mayor Cooper has the "Other" meetings there in the first place -to keep YOU out.
Yes, the same room where a couple of Junes ago, the mayor called her opponents -and me specifically- "Nazis" and Comm. London "a Hitler."
The room I've mentioned dozens of times here, complete with photos.
But isn't the person who talks below to the news media about an "invaluable opportunity for our neighborhoods to enter into the national dialogue” the very same person that was so dismissive of what the concerned people in a certain NE neighborhood in Hallandale Beach really thought?
I wrote that once upon a time, which is to say in February and March of this year, when he was in agreement with Mayor Cooper's absurd and un-safe two-way streets proposal for NE 8th & 10th Avenues, he was the one who told NE residents against it that THEY had "their facts all wrong"?
But when pressed, he couldn't explain why HE was for what THEY were against.
Hmm-m...
I'm especially interested in hearing the part about President Obama disagreeing with Comm. Lewy and taking him to task for swallowing whole Mayor Cooper's anti-democratic notions about public accountability, particularly, intentionally hiding information from the taxpayers or regularly voting on matters that don't appear on the written agenda.
Why?
So that HB voters can't be forewarned, organized and publicly oppose those efforts to take advantage of them.Yes, THAT part of the next meeting definitely ought to get get videotaped.
Many of them have been kept in cold storage and are going to be the basis for some forthcoming blog posts that I've been sitting on for a bit.
If there is a particular issue you know about or are upset about which you believe has been under-the-radar for far too long and deserves to see the light of day, please drop me a line and I will add it to the list if I don't already have it.
I mention this because just within the past two weeks, I've been contacted by four different HB residents I didn't already know about problems & issues I was heretofore unaware of.
To add to the mountain of ones we already knew about.
