On Labor Day 2012, we announce plans to re-double our efforts to publicly 'out' responsible parties for NOT doing their job in HB, Broward & So FL in resolving longstanding, self-evident Quality-of-Life problems.
You know, the kind that "Once upon a time," the news media actually reported upon, even in South Florida?

The Quality-of-Life problems and local govt. waste-and-corruption stories that my friends and I in Southeast Broward have been sharing with many members of the South Florida's press corps for years.
Yet 99.9% of the time, we've been left dumb-struck as they've ignored one compelling story and issue after another that we've given them on a silver platter, as instead, they've used their resources to pursue the litest of fluff and the LCD that this media market has become infamous for, which explains, in part, so many of the terrible local news websites here in South Florida.
It didn't always used to be that way in South Florida.

As is pretty much 'common knowledge' known around the world by now, this particular part of Florida is a target-rich environment for malevolent incompetency, crony capitalism and sheer old-fashioned gold-bricking, so we have, necessarily, MANY more truly worthy candidates for public shaming than an area our size would usually have.
Well, they'll soon start receiving the sort of well-deserved public scrutiny and kick-in-the-ass that's long overdue.

Rather than reveal the names now of some of the first candidates for your earnest consideration, I will settle for simply letting you know that some major changes are forthcoming, here on the blog and in the community. Wheels are definitely in motion, so don't be dejected that nobody else notices the same things around the area that you do.
We do!

In particular, I'm especially looking forward to increasingly seeking that public accountability I speak of at public meetings, where the guilty parties and their pals can all sit back in their chairs uncomfortably as their apparent lack of competency and sound management, plus the usual fecklessness, is raised publicly while others watch in amazement.
I mean I can't do everything just here on the blog, now can I?

There are too many local govt. agencies, Departments, Master Plans, 'strategies' and 'efforts' around here that are nothing but a house-of-cards.
My friends and I are now going to start pulling the cards at the bottom that help create the illusion of progress or effort and then sit back and let gravity do its thing.

Thanks to the recent acquisition of something I'll be talking about soon here on the blog, you readers out there in the blogosphere, whether close-by or far from these shores will soon be able to see at least some of these encounters for yourself -in High Definition.
Hi-Def public policy squirming is local govt. at its best!

Yes, you will see what these highly-paid 'geniuses' amongst us have to say for themselves when they have a ton of fact-filled bricks dropped on them in public, and their "handiwork" is revealed in all its glory.
Oops, there I go again using the word "work" again on Labor Day when lack of effort is more accurate.

Oh, what fun we will have when a new, higher degree of public accountability is firmly demanded, and firmly placed around their necks like an anchor.
Will they sink or swim?

After biting my tongue for months and years, even while hearing other residents or friends complain to me about the very same things, we now no longer care who gets publicly embarrassed.
We no longer care who loses their job.
We no longer care that they thought they were above public scrutiny and accountability.
They aren't.

Nope, we just don't have the time and patience to watch these folks keep ruining things in this larger community of ours thru their serial incompetence and sheer dumb-ass obliviousness.

Who's going to be the first party to find themselves under the microscope?
Without telling you too much here, let's just say that it rhymes with U.S. Post Office and let you think about what is afoot there on U.S.-1.
Or isn't!
