Beautiful Stockholm at night, looking west from the Baltic Sea towards Gamla Stan, with the iconic City Hall in the distance, on left, with the three golden crowns on top, which are the national emblem of Sweden. In my previous life, I was definitely born and raised there.

A reminder of why I and all of my savvy, sensible friends -like @UdenCatherine- push back hard vs. the serial nonsensical public policy + misanthropy emanating from #HollywoodFL City Hall the past few years, both the elected Mayor and City Commission, as well as the city's often imperious, feckless, thin-skinned highly-paid bureaucrats. Stop running Miami-Dade stories in the Broward section of the Herald website!

June 7th, 2009, 3:15 p.m. screenshot of Miami Herald website's Broward news section.

Stop running Miami-Dade stories in the Broward section of the Herald website just because you've made a conscious decision to stop covering local govt. and public policy in even a halfway serious fashion.

You aren't fooling anyone with your self-evident apathy, and are only appeasing/rewarding all the unethical pols who are only too happy that the paper doesn't show up to cover their public meetings, esp. in Hallandale Beach, where the Herald hasn't sent a reporter to a City Commission meeting in over a year.

As of 3 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon in June, this section has five so-called stories:

1. Five sentences about a Broward budget workshop on TV Tuesday.

2. A list of Broward births from May 1st-20th.

3. A 12-sentence Palm Beach Post story on a struggling program at FAU.

4. Friday's weather in M-D.

5. "Coral Springs home could be yours through $50 raffle."

So that's what passes for "news" in the 4th-largest county in the
4th-largest state in the U.S.?
Really?
